LOCOG takes the privacy of its users very seriously and we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of users. This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal information will be treated. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced and you should check this page to see our most up to date policy.

LOCOG works with partners in the Film Nation project. First Light Movies Limited and Screen West Midlands will all have access to data provided by users of the website and all references to 'we' in this privacy policy are to the above companies.

The information we collect

In order to provide you with our services or process any competition application you make, we may collect personal information about you from our website, telephone conversations, emails, application forms, acceptance on mailing lists, written communications and business cards. We may, for example, keep a record of your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and the nature of our contact.

We may use your personal information to process any request for information, or to comply with any statutory function or legal obligation. We will also use the information we hold to communicate with you, for example in processing competition applications, if we have a question or concern about your user comment, for supplying information to you, for record keeping purposes, to contact you if you are shortlisted in any competition, in aggregate for market research and to improve the quality of our service.

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your information to other companies in the LOCOG group of companies and to our other partners in the Film Nation programme.. We may also disclose your information to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport for statistical or report purposes, or to fulfil our legal obligations.

If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent or guardian's written permission before you provide personal information to filmnation.org.uk. Without this consent you are not allowed to provide us with personal information.

Offensive or inappropriate content on the Film Nation website

If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on filmnation.org.uk or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on filmnation.org.uk, we may use your personal information to stop such behaviour.

Where we believe that you may be in breach of any of the laws of England or Wales we may use your personal information to inform relevant third parties such as your employer, school email/internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.
