History in Motion

by Animate and Create

History in Motion was made by a group of young disabled students attending Valence School in Westerham. The project involved the young people studying a piece of archive footage shot in 1923 of disabled young people taking part in exercise and sporting activities at Treloar College. The pupils manipulated the archive material using animation techniques and voice over to express their views on what being disabled must have been like then, as well as making comparisons with life today.
